Types of Poker Games

Texas Holdem Poker
Texas Holdem is undoubtedly the most popular variation of poker played everywhere. This game can be played with even two players with an upper limit ranging up to ten players. The game is preferred by the poker lovers both around the world because of its swift gameplay and easy to follow rules. This game consists of four betting rounds. Each player gets two cards face down (termed as hole cards), and five community cards are allotted face-up for all players to use. The winner is the player having the highest five-card poker hand at showdown.
Omaha Poker
Omaha Hi is anther popular variation of Poker with ever increasing popularity. It can be played with minimum 2 players & maximum of 10.The Like Texas holdem, Omaha too consists of four betting rounds. Each player is alloted four cards face down (hole cards), and five community cards are allotted for all players to use. It is mandatory for every single player to match two of their hole cards with three community cards so as to make the best possible combination of five-card poker hand. Omaha game also has several variations such as Omaha 8, or Omaha Hi-Lo. Omaha 8 is played following the similar format like Omaha Hi, but in this variation a player also has to make the best possible combination of low five cards along with making the best possible high five card combination.
Seven Card Stud Poker
Seven-Card Stud, usually played between two to eight players is another popular poker version. In Seven Card Stud betting stars after an initial ante. Betting consists of five betting rounds where every single player gets three cards face down, and four cards are displayed for all players. The main aim of this game is to make the best possible combination of best five-card poker hand using seven available cards. Seven card stud too has a variation named Stud or Seven-Card Stud Hi-Lo. In this variation, a player has to make either the best high five or the best low five possible combination of five card poker hand.
Five Card Draw Poker
One of the oldest variations of poker is named as Five Card Draw. It is played between two & five players. Betting starts after an initial ante in this game which consists of two rounds. Every single player gets five cards face down and is allowed to discard or draw other five cards once the first phase of betting is over. The winner is the player having the highest five card poker hand at showdown.
Caribbean Stud Poker
It is a bit different in nature in comparison to other poker variations. In this game a player plays against the casino or house the letter acts as a dealer or banker. So, the banker has to pay out the winning amount. So, a winner in Caribbean stud poker must beat the banker’s hand-players, no competition exists between the players.
