The game of online backgammon can be played between two players. This game utilizes a board on which there are chips or playing pieces are placed. These checkers/chips move places on the board according to the number thrown up by rolling of the dice. Whichever player gets the checkers or playing pieces off the board first is declared the winner, usually there are rounds of such games between the players, a player who reaches a certain point first is the one who wins the match.
To begin the game of online backgammon, each player rolls the dice, whoever has the highest number showing up on the dice, makes the first move. The pieces are moved on the board as per the number showing on the dice, the other player follows the suit. In case the two players roll the same number on the dice, the process is repeated again, till the numbers rolled are different. The next round would begin with each player rolling two dices at one time. The players have a choice of moving two chips/checkers, according to the value that appears on the dice. The other way is to move only one chip/checker of a value which is the sum of the two dices. Thus, per hand the player gets to make two moves. In situations where the two dice roll the same numbers, the player gets four moves, rather than two.
Therefore, by rolling the moving the checkers, the player tries to get the chips home and ultimately out of the board. Each player has 15 chips placed across the board in the online backgammon game. Whoever is able to move all the 15 off the board first is the winner of that game. In addition, if one is able to move all 15 chips off the board before the opponent has even borne off a single chip, then the individual wins a ‘gammon’ (double game). Further, if one player is able to move off all the chips that belong to him/her off the board before the other player has borne off even a single chip and additionally the other player has at least one chip in the home board, the player who has taken off all the chips wins a backgammon (triple game).
