At last there is some good news for US gamblers, Mr. Barney Frank the Chairman of the house Financial Committee to introduce Gambling Regulation and Enforcement Act (HR 2046) after Easter break.

Mr. Frank said “(Attaching HR 2046 to another bill) is not my intention. It would be a mistake. I want to do this with hearings, discussions and votes,” as he told political news magazine The Hill.

Mr. Frank also criticized UIGEA few weeks ago. He is quite hopeful of positive outcome of the bill. If everything goes according to plans, Government would be able to control and tax online gambling, plus the wages made by online casinos and poker-rooms.

Many feel this is a very important first step regarding legalizing online gambling and regulating in the US. Optimistically Mr. Frank can put his framework in place so that U.S. players can benefit from a well controlled gambling atmosphere.
