Baccarat is the only game which have lowest house edge than any other casino game and thats makes it a game of player choice. There are many notions about the origin of baccarat. The word baccarat is derived from Italian word which means “zero”. Both Italians and French claim it to be their games but nothing is very clear. Though like every other game baccarat to have well accepted history. It is believed that the game baccarat originated from the Etruscan ritual to decide the fate of the blonde girl. According to which the fate of the blonde is decided by the nine edged dice. If the dice show 8 or 9 then the blonde girl was chosen to be priestess and if the dice showed 6 or 7 the blonde was banned from all the religious rituals but if the dice showed anything like 6 or below the blonde have to go to sea and drown herself.
In its primitive version the games baccarat was played with tarot cards. Felix Falguiere is known to be resplonsible for propagating the game in Italy.
In 16th century the baccarat game reached france and became quite popular there. Though baccarat was restricted to high profile french nobles and they named it “Chemin de Fer” which means railroad. In france it was favourite game of French elite class and was not available for normal French. French feel proud in playing Baccarat.
Then the game reached England through English channel. There in England to it gained lot of apprensive popularity but unlike in France it was played by all the classes of England people. In England Baccart undergone some changes in its rules and then it moved to South America crossing atlantic. Since it was known to be the game of wealthy people it attracted many wealthy south americans to the casinos.
The major development in baccart took place when it Cuba from Argentina. In Cuba it was changed and called Punto-Banco. In Cuba Francis “Tommy” Renzoni changed the main rule of the baccarat after he observed the people playing baccarat. In its primitive version the players play against themselves but now in its new avatar players wager against house. In previous versions casino used to take some parts of the players betting in baccarat however in its new version players now bet against the house. This change made it more popular and became for unforbidable game of casino both land casinos and online casinos.
In the 1990, Akio Kashiwagi all known as “The Warriror” made history in the world of Baccarat by wining $6 million in baccarat table at Atlantic City’s Trump Plaza casino. though he lost $10 million in a week making his net lose to $4 million. He said that is the reasonable price to get meaningful and exciting entertainment.
